These are the terms to which volunteer studio crew members at Vijana FM agree to.
Vijana FM’s role relative to you as a volunteer:
a) Provide a platform for you to discuss [insert focus here] on the Vijana FM blog;
b) Assign a username and password to you to log into the platform;
c) Assign you an official e-mail forwarding address [at]vijana.fm linked to your personal e-mail address;
d) Allocate space to host your photo and bio on our Studio Crew webpage;
e) Send you a styleguide to train you on the basics of blogging with WordPress;
f) Present an opportunity for you to interact with other Vijana FM volunteers;
g) Keep you informed of any changes affecting the Vijana FM platform, its users, and its audience;
h) Offer any virtual courses and/or learning material at our disposal that will enrich blogging and/or broadcast media skills;
i) Give you the flexibility of changing your commitment to the Vijana FM project; and
j) Discuss any planned changes being made to your commitment to the Vijana FM project.
Your role as a volunteer relative to the Vijana FM project:
a) Provide Vijana FM with a 70-120 word bio and a photograph of yourself after signing this contract for our Studio Crew webpage;
b) Inform Vijana FM of any changes you would like to be made to your bio, photo and/or e-mail address [at]vijana.fm;
c) Contribute original and/or linked content as per your expected post frequency indicated above;
d) Provide actionable content, ie: prompt your readers into doing something based on your argument or idea by providing direction and useable information (think entrepreneurship);
e) Stay on course with the focus as indicated above to ensure efficient allocation of topic areas;
f) Provide justifiable length to your post: Vijana FM encourages at least 150 words for written posts, or at least 2 minutes of audio/visual content (although you are welcome to produce more);
g) Cite and connect your readers to the original sources you use for your posts;
h) Provide information for how users can use your original content if you have specific conditions;
i) Read others’ posts regularly and contribute to the conversation through comments; and
j) Inform Vijana FM administrators should you want to change your commitment to the Vijana FM project, including any changes to your focus area indicated above.
Volunteers at Vijana FM are recruited in 3-month cycles (Jan-Mar, Apr-Jun, Jul-Sep, Oct-Dec), and membership renewal is assumed after volunteers have signed the agreement once unless they request a change by e-mailing admin[at]vijana[dot]fm.
