No TZ referees ahead of Brazil game

I just came across this DailyNews article about there being no local Tanzanian referees to run the Taifa Stars vs. Brazil game. The match, scheduled to be held in Dar at the National Stadium on Monday, June 7, is highly anticipated by Tanzanians globally.

According to the article, “Tanzania has repeatedly failed to produce quality referees [ in recent decades ] who could make cut in the international scene save for regional tournaments which they have rarely impressed.”

There seems to be mounting pressure around this game for those Tanzanians involved in hosting the event. Another DailyNews article discusses why the dates and times changed.

Anyhow, here’s what I’m asking: Is this a good time to assess why Tanzania is not in the World Cup or what?
