Hawa wananikumbusha kile kikundi maarufu kutoka Tanzania kilichokuwa kinajulikana kwa jina la TatuNane. Nafahamu kuwa baadhi yao walifariki na wengine ni wazee sasa hivi. Lakini, vijana tumeshindwa kutangaza muziki wa Tanzania kama walivyofanya kina Remmy Ongala (sikiliza wimbo wake “Narudi nyumbani”) na TatuNane (huu wimbo ulikuwa unatumiwa na Radio Tanzania Dar es Salaam kila asubuhi saa nne; ilikuwa ni kama kengele yangu ya kunikumbusha kuacha kucheza mpira na kwenda kuoga na kujiandaa kwenda shule — darasa la pili enzi hizo mnaingia mchana baada ya darasa la kwanza kumaliza ngwe yao ya asubuhi)?

Najua mambo yamebadilika, lakini ubunifu ndio kitu pekee kitakachofungua milango ya wasanii. Nikishaanza kumfananisha msanii fulani kutoka Bongo na msanii mwingine kutoka Marekani, ujue kuna walakini

Steven was born and raised in Dar es Salaam, and moved to Germany for his studies. He graduated with a BSc. in Physics (Jacobs University Bremen), and then a MSc. in Engineering Physics (Technische Universität München). Steven is currently pursuing a PhD in Physics (growth of coatings/multilayers for next generation lithography reflective optics) in the Netherlands. He’s thinking about starting his own business in a few years; something high-tech related.   1. Nyimbo nyingi zinazotungwa na kuimbwa hivi karibuni zinaisha makali baada ya muda mfupi tu. Mafunzo ndani yake wala hayadumu. Waliosema, ‘ya kale dhahabu’ hawakukosea. Lakini pengine ni kwa vile tulikuwa katika kipindi hicho, tukaona nyimbo zao za maana, pengine mababu zetu wasingekubaliana nasi wakati tunaserebuka na miziki ya enzi zetu (za utoto) na pengine ndiyo sababu tunapingana na nyimbo za ‘usasa’ huenda watoto wa leo hizi nyimbo za ‘usasa’ kwao ndizo zenye maana na kuwasikizisha zile zetu ni ‘kuwaboa’, hawaelewi na ‘kuwazeveza tu’, hata na hivyo, mimi nashangaa mbona nyimbo wanazofurahia Babu & Bibi, Mama & Baba & Mjomba & Shangazi ndizo tunazozifurahia Mimi, Kaka na Dada zangu? na hata baadhi ya wadogo zangu?

    Sio zote za ‘kisasa’ hazifai, ni kweli kuwa zipo zenye mantiki, Nzela, Mjomba, Mr. Politician, Ndiyo mzee, Salome, Nikusaidieje, nk ni baadhi tu lakini hazijazi kibaba.

    Vijana tungeni nyimbo bora zaidi.

  2. Ndio, kuna nyimbo ambazo kusema ukweli zitakufanya ufikirie, lakini bahati mbaya ni za kuhesabu (msikilize Roma au Mrisho Mpoto)…

    Ukimsikiliza Remmy (hapo juu) kwenye wimbo wake wa “Narudi Nyumbani” utaafiki kuwa jamaa alikuwa anaakisi yaliyokuwa yanatokea kwenye jamii miaka ya 70 na 80.. hata 90. Alikuwa anagusa hadhira yake kwa kutumia misemo kama “nguvu kazi”; na leo wakati nausikiliza niliguswa ile kinoma (kwasababu zangu binafsi).

    Ukiacha ‘akina Roma na Mpoto, vipi wengine? Hawataki kuongelea mambo yanayoigusa jamii? Na kila kukicha kuna mambo lukuki tu ya kuongelea — labda hawayaoni…

    Binafsi, nadhani ubunifu na ule utofauti unaokosekana kwa wasanii wetu wengi ni moja ya vikwazo vikubwa kwao kushindwa kuvuka mipaka. (Au ma-DJ wa nchi za nje nao wanataka “cha juu” ili wimbo upigwe?)

  3. Muziki una evolve, popote pale uendapo. Ila evolution ya muziki tuliyonayo TZ inastua kidogo kwani kasi yake ni ya ajabu na mwelekeo wake ni wa utata. Miziki isiyokuwa na ubunifu wa kisanii ndio inapendwa na wengi ilimradi beat au manjonjo yanawakumbusha vijana The GAME, BOW WOW, au NELLY. Upekee wa ‘muziki wa kisasa’ utakuja kupotea kutokana na pressure hii ya kutunga nyimbo kama za hao.
