7 Smartphone apps that will help you run your YouTube channel professionally

If I have convinced you to start a YouTube channel which you can professionally run using your phone as I laid out the plan on this article, then today I’m gonna share phone apps that can help you run your YouTube channel.

A lot of people think you need a lot of stuffs to do YouTube as a career and I’ not discouraging people to upgrade their tool, I’m just saying you can start with what you have and upgrade later.

Don’t wait to start, don’t wait till you have the latest camera, use your phone.

And here are smartphone apps that you can install that will help you with your YouTube career (apart from the YouTube app itself):

YouTube Studio

YouTube Studio is the app that will help you to upload videos directly to YouTube from your phone. This app also helps you edit tags, which are the searchable words that will make your video pop up when someone type them).

You will edit the content of the description box via this app but also you can edit your YouTube thumbnail, which is the photo you see on a video.

You can also see the metrics of your channel, how many people watched your videos, from where, their age ranges and a couple of videos that suggest your video to be played next.

Canva

You know how sometimes you see video thumbnails that have words and not just an image? People edit their thumbnails using Canva.

Canva is an amazing app that has different free designs. All you do is just put words and voila, you have a professionally looking video thumbnail!

Just look at my video thumbnails, it’s all thanks to Canva. Canva has free photos too, so you can just search for the photo that you would love to put on your thumbnail that shows the theme of your video, then you are good to go.

Google Keep

Remember I said that you need a posting schedule? Well, to avoid running out of ideas, I personally use the Google Keep app to write down every idea that I get, and to plan which video is to be recorded and posted.

This app has a reminder facility, and so when the day comes it reminds you to create the video or post it. I use this app as my unofficial content calendar and a store for my ideas.

Inshot

This app makes video editing easy and professional on your phone. You can edit Instagram videos, YouTube videos and more. I love how easy it is to edit even if it’s your first time to use it. It also has so many cool features and filters.

Social media apps

After you post your work, share it!

Share it on WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter, etc. Let your friends show up for you by supporting you.

DU Recorder

Sometimes you want to share a video of you explaining something that is on your phone. For example, maybe how to use WhatsApp on your phone.

This app helps you make videos by recording your phone screen. So if you love to do Tech videos, for example, where no one sees you – just a voice and a recorded screen – then this is app is for you. You record your screen first, and then edit your video afterward.

If you would love to vlogs or videos where you show your face, make sure your camera is great, or download Open Camera if it’s not, and if you just record audio, and your in-built sound recorder is not the best, you can use Smart Recorder.

I can’t wait to see your YouTube channel flourish, and I would love it if you send me the links to your channels. You don’t have to wait for much to show us your creativity, your phone is a powerful tool already.
